Bear River State Park
A link to Bear River's website

So, the first of many stories of our summer begins like any other.  "Hey kids, we're going to go somewhere fun today!"  The kids shout happiness in the air and there is a bonus for this trip because Chris's parents were visiting us and were coming with us too!

We had heard great things about this place so we decided to go check it out.  It's on the edge on Wyoming and we had passed a few times going to Utah.  So we headed out with the excitement high. We (I) were expecting beautiful landscapes, rivers, maybe even some wildlife.

So we get there and see that the entrance has bathrooms and a playground, which means the kiddos lost all interest in anything but the playground.  (I hate when that happens...)  Anyways we keep driving and see a nice river, and a few parking lots, so we decide to stop and get out and discover.  There is a path along the river so we decide to walk it and see where it takes us.  The in-laws decide they'll sit at a picnic table and wait for us.

The River, the path is to the right...

The old bridge we walked across...

Chris and the kiddos checking out the river...

 An awesome path...
I love this pic, Chris found sticks for all the kiddos to walk with, and of course I think I'm a photographer and had to stay behind and take a pic!

All in all, there wasn't much to Bear River. There was a river, a path, an old bridge, picnic tables, bathrooms, and a playground...and a snake...but no bears anywhere...hmmmm..

Oh yeah, I was walking in front for once and was waiting on everyone to join me.  The next thing I know I turn around after calling out to everyone to come on, and there's a snake right in front of me.  I screamed like any normal person would, right....?  I must have scared it, because as soon as I saw it, it was gone.  Of course, Chris just laughed and told me I should've let him go first, but I was tired of walking, and walking, and walking, and walking.  Anyways, we had a semi good time at that state park.

(Doesn't everything look better in sepia....apparently I thought so....)

More to come...

WYOMING
Well, we have been living in Wyoming since May 20th. We were very excited about Chris's new job and moving somewhere new. All in all it has been a fantastic experience except for one thing, the kids and I miss Texas something terrible! Yeah it may be hot, it may be humid, but it's home! It's all they have ever known and I have ever known. Both of their grandparents live in Texas and they miss them and I miss them too. (*cough* instant babysitters *cough*). We have been to Yellowstone twice and have taken the kids to see many awesome things. Oh and by the way, the actual Salt Lake stinks to high heaven! That was one trip the would have rather not taken! We have seen dinosaurs skeletons, 1000-4000 year old petroglyphs, and an old mining town. Chris on the other hand loves it up here! He loves his job, the cooler weather, and being so close to nature untouched. Here are a few pics from our summer in Wyoming....

This is Joy and Sunshine fishing with Chris on the Green River.

The crazy limbed tree I made them climb in so I could get a pic!

The petroglyph adventure!

The triceratops at the college in town, I loved seeing all the dinosaurs!

I will post more later about each individual trip and add more pictures too!
Thanks for stopping by!
